The communities of Shipton, Ascott and Milton-under Wychwood each have their own considerable attractions. The largest is Shipton with a wide village green, railway station and access to the Oxfordshire Way long-distance footpath. The Haven Cottage which sleeps 6 (+2) people, is set in the best kept Cotswold village in Oxfordshire - Shipton under Wychwood - an area of great beauty enjoying panoramic unspoilt views of hills and dales. Midway between Cheltenham & Oxford. 3 minutes drive away from Chipping Norton which has good shopping and a farmers market on Fridays. The Shaven Crown Pub is 4 minutes walk and is renowned for its excellent food.
There is also another pub in the village called The Lamb and it serves delicious meals all day until 10 p.m. The village shop & post office is a 3 minute walk. There is a delicatessen and the supermarket is 3 minutes drive away in Milton-under-Wychwood. You are close to Burford and the surrounding area is ideal for walks, cricket and riding. You may have an organic food box delivered. Getting there : The local station is a request stop and is 1½ hours to Paddington. Our local taxi driver Robin will pick you up at a train station. Please tell the train driver 2 stations before you arrive that you want to get off. There are more trains to the next station at Kingham, 10 minutes drive away.
